Alison Purdy began studying piano at the age of eight and has been playing ever since. She has been the accompanist for the Regina Philharmonic Chorus since 1990 and has also played for numerous other choirs including the University of Regina Concert Choir and the Prairie Chamber Choir. In 2011, she received a Community Service Award from the Saskatchewan Choral Federation and in 2016, she was the recipient of the Jacqui Shumiatcher Arts Award from the Regina YWCA. Alison holds a Bachelor of Music Honours degree from the University of Wales and an ARCT diploma in piano performance.  She received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Regina in 2014.
